Faculty of Nursing

  • ○We aim to educate nursing staff with rich specialized knowledge and techniques.
  • ○Specialized subjects and on-site training starting from the first year help our students gain practical skills from an early stage.
  • ○Our students receive training at medical facilities and municipal health centers. They also receive training in how to care for the elderly.

Faculty of Social Welfare

  • ○There are two departments: the Department of Social Administration, which provides education in welfare administration and organization, and the Department of Clinical Social Service, which provides education in welfare services and counseling.
  • ○The Department of Social Administration covers the two education groups of welfare systems and frontier welfare, while the Department of Clinical Social Service covers the two education groups of clinical welfare and welfare psychology.

Faculty of Software and Information Science

  • ○Through practical leaning and research,we aim to educate human resources that can help realize"an information-oriented,but also people-friendly society"and have the following abilities and qualities:
  • ●the ability to plan,design,develop,maintain,and operate information technology systems from the user's point of view.
  • ●deep knowledge and fully-developed emotional and social intelligence.

Faculty of Policy Studies

  • ○Our students learn about the various problems of contemporary society and the techniques (skills) and ways of thinking necessary to solve them.
  • ○Starting from the 3rd year, courses branch into two areas of study: one focusing on administration and management, and the other focusing on the environment and local communities. Students in both areas of study start with practical learning, with a focus on learning from on-site experiences.
  • ○Starting in the third year, students take part in seminars where they study in depth a topic of their choice on which they write their graduation theses.

Morioka Junior College

Department of Life Science

  • ○There are two majors in the Department of Life Science, which aims to educate individuals with the practical ability and knowledge necessary to respond to the needs of contemporary society. The Life Science major analyzes human lifestyle scientifically, with a focus on housing and clothing, and related issues such as energy and environmental issues. The Food and Nutrition major examines food from a wide perspective and aims to provide the knowledge and techniques needed to acquire the qualifications for becoming a nutritionist.

Department of Life Science
○The goal is to educate globally-minded individuals with high language and communication skills, capable of active involvement in the international society.

Department of Business Management and Information Sciences

  • ○Students acquire the knowledge and techniques behind the advanced use of information as well as theories and practices related to management and accounting.
  • ○From the first year all students have their own laptop on which they acquire and practice computer skills.
  • ○Students acquire the professional knowledge, as well as the ability, to select and apply information; they also develop a broad view of the world and qualities needed as regional leaders.
