Graduates of Academic Year 2008 and Their Employment Status

To promote contribution to the local area by encouraging the human resources nurtured at our school to stay in Iwate, we are making efforts such as inviting companies to be tenants for the Takizawa Village IPU Innovation Center, and promoting educational and research activities by the Faculties with the local area as the field.

As part of the academic and career guidance counseling, we enriched the practical education program based in the local area, such as the management analysis system proposal for a local shopping district in a practical course in the Faculty of Software and Information Science. We are also fostering professional mindsets in other ways, such as inviting external lecturers and providing on-site practical training opportunities. At the Faculty of Nursing, the in-prefecture employment rate for Academic Year 2008 doubled from the previous year, as a result of efforts such as employment seminars.

Featured Topic Nurturing a Professional Mindset Through the “Medical Facilities Research Seminar for the Faculty of Nursing Students”

The Faculty of Nursing holds the “Medical Facilities Research Seminar” every year from June to July, for the third-year and fourth-year students. About 30 medical facilities in and out of Iwate participate in the seminar, where each facility has a booth to explain its management philosophy, employment conditions and benefits, etc. It is a useful and meaningful opportunity to nurture career-oriented minds, where students can hear first-hand accounts of nurses working at actual medical scenes.
