Regular Course (Master’s degree program/Doctorate program)

Regular Course  Research Students  Credited Auditor  Japanese Government Scholarship Students

A Master's degree is normally awarded to a student with at least two years residence in the master's program,
acceptable master's thesis and passing the final comprehensive examination.

A Doctorate degree is normally awarded to a student with at least three years residence in the doctorate program,
acceptable doctoral thesis and passing the final comprehensive examination.

1. Publishing of Application Details The 1st term the end of June
The 2nd term the beginning of December
2. Admission Requirements for foreign students (1)Master’s program
(Graduate School of Nursing, Graduate School of Software and Information Science and Graduate School of Policy Studies)
A person with any of the following credentials may apply for admission:
@ Graduation or expected graduation from a Japanese university.
A Acquisition or expected acquisition of a bachelor’s degree at a Japanese university.
B Completion or expected completion of sixteen years of regular curricular studies abroad.
C* A person who is qualified by the minister of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Technology in Japan.
D Completion of a fifteen year educational curriculum in a foreign country with credits and outstanding grades recognized by a graduate school of this university.
* C is not qualified for the applicants of the Faculty of Policy Studies
(2) Doctoral program
(Graduate School of Software and Information Science and Graduate School of Policy Studies)
A person with any of the following credentials may apply for admission:
@ Acquisition or expected acquisition of a master’s degree at a Japanese university.
A Acquisition or expected acquisition of a master’s degree or its equivalent at a University Graduate School abroad.
B A person who is qualified by the minister of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Technology.
3. Selection A foreign student wishing to be admitted into either the Master's program or the Doctoral program needs to pass an entrance examination. The examination is written in Japanese. Admission procedures and requirements may slightly differ according to each graduate school.
4.The time of entrance The beginning of the school year (April)

*The Master’s program of the Graduate School of Social Welfare has no special admission policy for foreign students;
an applicant needs to apply through the regular admission process.
